Clinton girls relay teams smash state records
State Meet Highlights Top Performances: Top Teams:
Top Competition: The boys 6A long jump was a tight battle between Deshavion Flowers of Greenville-Weston and Lakendric Tuck of Harrison Central. Flowers got the win with 23-9.50 and Tuck was second at 23-9. Tuck did win a title, though, in the triple jump, with 47-6.50. Record-breakers: The Clinton girls relays teams were the story of the meet. They broke the all-time Mississippi record in the 4x200 by more than THREE SECONDS, with US#6 1:37.58. And they broke their own record in the 4x100 with US#6 46.14. Those are blazing fast times and they may only get better. Clinton has the fastest two girls in the state and they are a freshman (Washington) and a sophomore (Sims). Results:
